Dear Jude, We are all wishing we could go back to the pace of Christmas break. We are back to our regular work and daycare routine and all a little out of sorts around our house. Jude had his first taste of driving when we were at the Meendering family reunion in July and couldn't get enough. My favorite day in CO included a bike trip from Frisco to Breckenridge. Jude got to experience a bike helmet and bike trailer for the first time and all of us got to experience 10 miles of graduate uphill biking. We took a long pit stop in Breckenridge for lunch and some shopping and then enjoyed coasting 10 miles back to Frisco. Jude is not sure about his bike helmet... The whole group....

  I am guessing Jude would say his favorite Coloardo Vacation activity was riding the steam engine "TRAAAAAAIIIINNNNNNN" train from Silver Plume to Georgetown. Later in the week we checked out a trail about a half mile from our condo in Silverthorn called Lillypad trail. At the top there was a small lake filled will flowering lillypads.  The mommas had the kids on the way up and by the time we got to the lake they were both asleep.  Wish I could snap my fingers and transport us back to this trailhead tomorrow morning.  One can dream, right?

 We spent two days hiking while we were in Colorado.  The scenery was fantastic and I loved the tranquility you feel out on a hiking trail. These picture pics are from our first day of hiking on Booth Lake Trail near Vail.  LOVED all of the aspen and birch trees. It is that time of year again. The annual family trip to the Black Hills. We took Jude to an Easter Egg Hung with his cousins and he came up empty handed. We got there waited about 10 minutes for the hunt to start and then in a flash it was over. It literally lasted 1-2 minutes max! The kids covered that green space picking up the eggs in a flash. Jude's cousin Ava shared one egg with Jude so he could pick one up. Was a fun day. It is so much fun watching Jude explore the outdoors. He is facinated with all of the rocks in our landscaping and tosses them around with joy while we work outside. We are in the process of moving all the rock back from around our plants because it hasn't been done in years and desprately needs to be done to allow the plants to grow. Now that Jude is super moble we find ourselves working to come up with entertainment in each room. His new favorite is playing in the kitchen while we make dinner. Jude is finally starting to feel better. He is back to moving about the house and playing with his toys. He is absolutely in LOVE with these blocks he got from his great uncle for Christmas. There is one block for each letter of the alphapet with something inside that starts with that letter. Jude has learned to carefully study what we are about to feed him. If he hasn't had a chance to see it he will push the spoon away and carefuly inspect the color and consistency of what we are about to give him. ...what he can't have. He has been persistant about trying to get to our laptops whenever they are in his view. We unplugged the keyboard from the desktop computer and tried giving him that - but he saw right through it. So for christmas santa brought him a toy computer. We traveled to visit Grant and Nicole to celebrate the New Year. Although Jude didn't get any turkey, he had a great day with his familly......Hanging out with Great Grandma Sylvia (and really into the ceiling fan).... Hanging out with the Moran Cousins.... We had a lovely morning in our new house before heading to grandma and grandpa's house for thanksgiving. It was the first morning we spent in our new house that we were not running off to work and could take time and enjoy the sun streaming in the windows, a hot cup of coffee, and and story with Jude.
