Not that I really want to reminisce about this, but since it is so bizarre I thought you would all get a kick out of knowing I had PUPS for a few weeks after Jude was born. They say i must have had a real mild case of it before I delivered and then a few days after Jude arrived I was covered in this intensely itchy rash. It is funny now, but I was not laughing when i nearly itched all of my skin off. I am happy to say I am no longer covered in these red itchy welts. So long PUPS - hope to never see you again!

Hanging out with Dad

Enjoying the outdoors with Dad on memorial day weekend. It still feels so odd to refer to Jon as "dad"!

What color will those eyes be?

Hard to believe Jude was one month old yesteray. Seems like yesterday that we brought him home. The word is still out on what color his eyes will be. We thought they were going to be hazel like Jon's eyes but they are starting to look more and more brown like mine. How long does it take for babies eyes to change color?

First Mother's Day

We had a very nice Mother's Day on Sunday. It was a special day to share my first mothers day with my mom. It was a bit overcast, but we still were able to get the last window box up, some flowers planted on the side hill and the lawn mowed. We would never have accomplished so much without Grammie in town. Thanks mom for making the day so special.

The Second Week

Jude in his APM outfit. He is number 2 of 5 babies that are expected this year in Jon's office.

Grammie give Jude a bath. He love baths from Grammie, but not so much from his parents.

Jude loving being held by Grandma Meendering.

Finally, is that a hint of a smile? I think it might be. We are adjusting to the new schdule and enjoying seeing little changes everyday.

Healthy Baby Boy

Jude Harper Meendering was born on Monday, April 27th at 3:05 pm. We were set to report to the hospital at 6:00 am on Monday morning to be induced, but I woke Jon up at 3:00 am when I could feel regular contractions and we realised that it go time! We were so excited to go into labor on our own and after 12 hours of labor with 3.5 hours of pushing our little boy was in our arms. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz, is 21 inches long, and is healthy and happy (most of the time). We came home from the hospital on Wednesday night and have slowly been adjusting to life with a newborn. We are totally in love with him and just can't seem to get enough.

Recycled Old Frames

I have been on a mission to get rid of things we don't use. If you have seen our basement you would know why. How can two people have so much stuff?? We had a whole tote of picture frames sitting in our basement since we moved into this house (nearly 2 years ago). It is not like we don't have pictures out and about in our house, we just had so many and they were all fairly eclectic colors and sizes, so we just didn't have a place for them. We decided to take all of them and spray paint them black. We ordered black and white print of some of our favorite pictures and hung them together in a grouping on our stairway. It cost us next to nothing and we were happy to put all of our old frames to use. It is such a joy to see the picture every morning and night as we pass by. There are a lot of pictures up there that a lot of you may recognize....

Tag Blanket

I have had a hiatus from crafting for the past few months. Just to many other things occupying my time. I finally found some time this weekend to finish a baby gift for baby Eden. Sam and Nick are due this week and anxiously awaiting her arrival. We can't wait to hear the news. Hope you guys get the gift in the mail before you read this so we didn't ruin the surprise! I wanted to make her tag blanket. There were tutorials online, but I have the hardest time following instructions for crafts so i decided to do it my own way. It worked out really well and it was actually pretty easy. I will post a tutorial sometime soon if anyone wants it. I appliqued her name on the flannel side and used a fun print on the other. Can't wait to meet you baby Eden!
