Raspberries

The Hofers and Gma and Gpa Meendering were in town a few weeks ago and we took a trip to do some raspberry picking. Yummmmm!

A Summer Highlight

My department head at the University of Oregon and his wife were kind enough to come and visit us on their way through SD this summer. It was one of my summer highlights.  We played 9 holes of golf (on a 100 degree day), enjoyed dinner out, and shared many laughs reminiscing about old times at the University of Oregon and sharing new stories (still laughing about the car story Dr. Klug).

Radke's Visit

'

Our friends the Radke's visited a few weekends ago. It was great to see them and catch up - it had been far too long.  The kiddo's played together great and Jude loved all the action.

Gee Family Vacation

We had a great week in the black hills over the 4th of July with my parents, and my sisters and their families. We did our usual events, hiking, mini golf, lake and beach time, bean bag tournaments, and the hill city railroad.  It is always a crazy week full of fun.  Jude loves the time with his cousins and I love all the trees. Reminds Jon and I of our time in Oregon.  We are counting the days until next year!

Fishing Weekend

We survived a hotter than blazes weekend fishing at the river this summer. Jude loves time in the boat and he got to fish with Gma and Papa M and great uncle Ger.  We got a little sun scorched at the end and headed back to the camper early....the last photo makes me realize we probably should have gone in sooner...Jude looks so hot!

Happy Fathers Day

We woke up early on Fathers Day and suprised Jon with a tickets the Twins game.  It rained for part of the game, but we entertained ourselves with a photo shoot in the gift shop (hense the photo with the foam finger that later caused a rather large scene when mom said no to taking it home).  Despite the rain, the game game was still a good time. I can't think of a better way to spend a summer day with my best boys!

Summer Fun

It is starting to feel like fall here and it has me longing for the warm summer days.  We had a great fish fry with the Hofer family this summer.  Jude adores his cousins and loved playing baseball, bean bags, and hide and go seek.  We are hoping there are few more warm summer days to BBQ with friends before the snow flies here!

Mini Vacation

We took a mini vacation this summer with Rachel, Sam, and Greta.  It is always so good to get together with them, so easy and comfortable no matter how long it has been since we have seen them last.  We took in the zoo, the lake and actually managed to have a pretty relaxing dinner out. Thanks Rachel for bringing those bubble toys - genius!  Jude adores Greta and it always makes me so happy to see them become such good friends.  We miss and love you guys!

Thanks Uncle Gerald!

Jude received a garden pack from his great uncle Gerald for his birthday. He spent many of his summer days digging, raking, planting seeds, and watering.  He thought it was so cool that he had his very own set of tools. He made trips to the garden with Gma and Papa G and always had to have his garden tool set along.
