Jude's New Room

A few of you have asked for house pictures, so here it goes. I thought I would start with Jude's room. This was a den when we moved in with half tile half bright blue carpet. We added a closet, and a new carpet and all of Jude's things from his first room (looking at those pictures of his first room bring tears to my eyes...we really miss that house!) One thing that really bothers me in this house is the oak trim. My long term plan is to paint it all white, but that is behind a whole list of other projects, so it is going to have to wait for awhile. The top pic is the fish moble he got for x-mas from gma and papa M. He loves to look at it and watch the fish move around the worm in the middle. More house pictures to come soon....

In the kitchen

Now that Jude is super moble we find ourselves working to come up with entertainment in each room. His new favorite is playing in the kitchen while we make dinner. He is a big fan of the colored mixing bowls, wisk and spatula. Hopefully this means he will dig cooking in the kitchen with us someday.

First Day Back

It was Jude's first day back at daycare today. He was out all last week due to his respiratory infection, but was excited to go see his friends today. He had fun, but boy was he exhausted when he got home. Hope everyone had a happy Monday!

On the Up Swing

Jude is finally starting to feel better. He is back to moving about the house and playing with his toys. He is absolutely in LOVE with these blocks he got from his great uncle for Christmas. There is one block for each letter of the alphapet with something inside that starts with that letter. They are Fisher Price Peek a Boo Alphabet Blocks and they come highly recommended from our house!

No Fun

Having a sick babe is no fun. Sorry to everyone I meant to call this weekend for not getting ahold of you. Between the coughing, throw up, Dr. visits, nebulizer treatments, medicine, and tempurature taking, Jon and I had our hands full this weekend. I feel so bad for the little guy....he hates the nebulizer and taking medicine. I knew he really wasn't feeling well yesterday because he just kept crawing into my lap and wanting to sit and read books or play with a little toy. He is normally VERY active and you can't get him to sit still - it was evident he was not feeling his best. He is at home with Daddy today and hopefully will be feeling better soon.

HAPPY VALENTINES!

Jude made Valentine cupcakes for all his friends at daycare on Friday and his first Valentines card for Mommy. I hope everyone had a good Valentines Day.

First Snow

Definitely not the first snow of the year here (we had to dig our mailbox out of a a drift), but it was Jude's first experience with snow last week. We decided he needed to go out and touch it and experience it, instead of just seeing it from his car seat or out the window every once in awhile. We bundled him up and then watched him experience the snow. He was either completely confused or just disgusted by the cold wet stuff. We can't argue with him. Man, I am ready for Spring.

Whats on that spoon?

Jude has learned to carefully study what we are about to feed him. If he hasn't had a chance to see it he will push the spoon away and carefuly inspect the color and consistency of what we are about to give him. There are some things that do not get his approval and he fusses for something else. Any suggests on how to handle this so that he learns to like a wider variety of foods?

I am sorry...

....mom and dad (and all the fans sitting around us) for having the most massive throw up of all time during the starting line up of the Jacks women's basketball game this weekend.

Attack

Now that Jude has learned to crawl instead of worm across the room he is all over the place. His favorite game is to play our own version of tag/hide and seek. He chases us - we hide - he finds us - we tag him- the giggling begins!

Joy in little things

Jon and I have been busy and overwhelmed with life the past few weeks. So much to do and so little time. Makes me think back to the time I asked a student what she did for fun over the weekend and she responded by saying "I have NO TIME for fun". This comment has stuck with me and although I have felt like jon and I have had no time for fun the past few weeks I am learning that I need to find fun in the little things and take the time to enjoy the tasks of daily life at our house. I am doing my best to find time each day to laugh and enjoy the little things. A few nights ago Jude was strolling around his room looking like this....can you help but smile?

Why are my peas mushy?

How can you not love this face? I feel like he is pondering why we are trying to make him eat mushy peas when we get to eat food that looks much better.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday! Hope everyone has a good day. I have a pretty busy schedule chewing on my stacking cups and trying to get my top tooth to finally break through.
